ANTHRATICUS, chancellor to the queen of a colony of spritely dragons (or "spragons," as Habie dubs them) the companions encounter late in their adventure. Although they consider themselves cousins to the larger dragons whom the adventurers set out to heal, they are actually a species of coatl and are covered with tiny feathers rather than scales.  Because of his age, Anthraticus is the wisest member of the party and may be a more powerful worker of magic than even Mistra, but his naivete about the workings of the universe at large get him into trouble. In fact, he never realized how unworldly he was about some things till he first met Deneth! Ah, well, life in the colony was getting a bit dull . . .
